Ashok Chowgule – 4 way test citation
Rotary Club of Vasco da gama presented Shri Ashok Chowgule with a four-way test citation as recognition for his high ethical standards on 17 April 2009 at Coconut Creek, Bogmalo.
Shri Ashok Chowgule is a noted industrialist from the Chowgule Group, Past Chairman of the Western Region of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and President of the Maharashtra and Goa branch of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. The Chowgule Group has interests in Ship Building, Mining, Education, etc.
In 1932, Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor created The Four-Way Test, a code of ethics adopted by Rotary 11 years later. The test, which has been translated into more than 100 languages, asks the following questions:
Of the things we think, say or do
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
