Meeting with GSE team from District 9470 Australia

district-9470-australiaWe hosted dinner for the GSE team from District 9470 Australia at Lava, Chicalim. The delegation included Michael Collin, Rob Pannell, Melissa Croswell, Honor Putland and Belinda Truman. District 9470 currently has 34 clubs from Perth, Western Australia.

Garage Sale / Fundraiser

GSE Team Member @Garage SaleWe held our first Garage Sale at Kharewado, Vasco. The items on sale were recieved as donations from various people. Most of the items on sale were pre-used but in a  good condition. Old and new clothing, footwear, toys, household knick-knacks and some home appliances were sold. The sale helped us raise funds for our school project.

GSE Team from RID 7260, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York, USA

February 4th, 2009

Amit B, Dr Jen, Lalit, Dinesh, Amit T, Gwenn, Snehal, Shruti, AnupamWe hosted 2 of the GSE Team Members from the Rotary International District 7260 Suffolk County, Long Island, New York, USA.

The team was led by Gwenn (Real Estate Broker) – Assistant Governor of the District and International Service Director of the Rotary Club Of Westhampton, NY. She was accompanied by Polly (Soil District Technician), Justin (Physician), Kevin (Physician Assistant) and Erin (International Education).

The team was hosted by Jennifer and Charuta (Polly) and Lalit (Gwenn), and other members were hosted by Madhav and Nikhil from the Vasco club. It was interesting to hear about their experiences and gain insight into Rotary in the Long Island. Apart from visits to the Vasco club projects, our club briefed the team leader about our proposed school project, objectives and process. The GSE team also participated in the Pulse Polio Immunization.

GSE Incoming Team from RI District 7260, New York

Suffolk County, Long Island, NY, USAWe will be hosting the incoming GSE team from Rotary International District 7260 New York USA. Agenda includes: ATTEND A MINIMUM OF 1 ROTARY FUNCTION, ATTEND THE ROTARY DISTRICT CONFERENCE and SIGHT SEEING.

In a typical four-week tour, applicants participate in five full days of vocational visits, 15 to 20 club presentations, 10 to 15 formal visits and social events, two to three days at the district conference, three to four hours per day of cultural and site tours, and three to four hours per day of free time with host families. Rotarians in the host area provide for meals, lodging, and group travel within their district.
