We hosted dinner for Rtn. John Gallen, Vice President Diss & District Rotary Club (Norfolk, Great Britain) from Rotary District 1080 UK, and his wife, Inner Wheel member Jill Gallen at Hotel Mandovi, Panaji.
We hosted dinner for the GSE team from District 9470 Australia at Lava, Chicalim. The delegation included Michael Collin, Rob Pannell, Melissa Croswell, Honor Putland and Belinda Truman. District 9470 currently has 34 clubs from Perth, Western Australia.
We held our first Garage Sale at Kharewado, Vasco. The items on sale were recieved as donations from various people. Most of the items on sale were pre-used but in a good condition. Old and new clothing, footwear, toys, household knick-knacks and some home appliances were sold. The sale helped us raise funds for our school project.
Visiting Rotarian Elena Matveeva, Youth Exchange Committee Chair, Rotary District 2220, Moscow, Russia. She talked about Russia, their club and their activities, including purchasing a school bus for orphans by raising funds in a charitable ball.
Also attending were Rotarians from the Vasco club: Prakash, Santosh, Piyush, Servulho.
Rtn. Prakash of RC Vasco, and Rtn. Bharat of RID 7890 talked to us about their visit to the 100th Rotary International Convention held at Birmingham, UK.
Rtn. Bharat elaborated on the proceedings at the Convention while Rtn. Prakash elaborated on the networking effectiveness at an RI convention.
The club president Marion Cohen and her team compiled very elaborate information to help introduce our club to their activities.
PRIDE OF WORKMANSHIP AWARDS: The club recognises numerous nominated great employees for their “extra effort” every year.
WHEELCHAIR FOUNDATION: The Rotary Club of Gosford West supports the Wheelchair Foundation, and has assisted in the provision of ten containers of wheelchairs to disadvantaged and struggling youth in Papua New Guinee, the Soloman Islands, Fiji, Samoa and East Timor.
MEDICAL PROJECT: The club has supported a Rotary provision of medical supplies project to a Philipino village. They also donated towards an East Timor project supporting midwife training and provision of supplies.
YOUTH IN PERFORMING ARTS: The Rotary Club of Gosford West managed the project for 17 years, and then handed it over to Laycock Theatre to manage. The club still supports young performers with two annual scholarships.
EXCHANGE STUDENTS: Hosting and hospitality has been shared with various young exchange students.
Dinesh attended the weekly meeting of The Rotary Club of Zoetermeer, Netherlands. The club meets
for lunch every wednesday at a local city restaurant “De Sniep“. The club was chartered in 1957, and still has one charter member in the club!!!!
Zoetermeer is a city in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The name “Zoetermeer” (which literally translates into English as “Sweet Lake”) refers to the former fresh lake at the site of the town.
Rahul Kamat, son of Dr. Jennifer – our Community Service Director, became the youngest Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) we have seen from RC Vasco. He was awarded the PHF certificate during the recent DG visit of RC Vasco. His parents Dr. Jen and Bharat are also PHFs.

The Italians included Dr. Alfredo Focà – R.C. Reggio Calabria and Past District Governor, and Dr. Antonio Amoruso – R.C. Crotone. Dr. Focà also addressed our meeting and talked about their projects.
While in India, they visited Goa, Delhi, Agra and Moradabad. They participated in the Pulse Polio Immunization drive and 3170 District Conference. The Italian volunteers were staying with Prakash and Piyush from the Vasco club.
District 2100 has already partnered with a few clubs in Goa (Support to destitute women in Goa for sewing machines and Multimedia learning systems.)
