Dinesh attended the weekly meeting of The Rotary Club of Zoetermeer, Netherlands. The club meets
for lunch every wednesday at a local city restaurant “De Sniep“. The club was chartered in 1957, and still has one charter member in the club!!!!
Zoetermeer is a city in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The name “Zoetermeer” (which literally translates into English as “Sweet Lake”) refers to the former fresh lake at the site of the town.

District 2100 has already partnered with a few clubs in Goa (Support to destitute women in Goa for sewing machines and Multimedia learning systems.)
The team was led by Gwenn (Real Estate Broker) – Assistant Governor of the District and International Service Director of the Rotary Club Of Westhampton, NY. She was accompanied by Polly (Soil District Technician), Justin (Physician), Kevin (Physician Assistant) and Erin (International Education).
The team was hosted by Jennifer and Charuta (Polly) and Lalit (Gwenn), and other members were hosted by Madhav and Nikhil from the Vasco club. It was interesting to hear about their experiences and gain insight into Rotary in the Long Island. Apart from visits to the Vasco club projects, our club briefed the team leader about our proposed school project, objectives and process. The GSE team also participated in the Pulse Polio Immunization.
Our club participated in the Pulse Polio Immunization Programme by helping man the booth organised by the Rotary Club of Vasco da gama. Our guests – the visiting GSE Team from RID 7260 also lent a helping hand. Gwenn led from the front. Over 250 children were administered drops at the booth. Dinesh, Amit B, Snehal, Lalit, Dr Jen and Avez also visited the booth.

A Sunday evening well spent at Dinesh’s residence – ideating about projects. Armed with 4 laptops, a Wi-Fi connection and 6 overcharged brains, the group went about discussing potential projects ranging from solar / LED lights, fuel from plastics, donation of encyclopedias to schools, tree plantation, etc. Kudos to Bharati for keeping everyone well fed. Jen, Anupam, Amit T, Lalit, Snehal and Dinesh attended.
An online form was setup to allow members to suggest potential projects.
We agreed on a first project - a partnership with some school (as a long-term venture).
